take 500 and multiply it by 20 ---->this gives you 10000

divide 10000 by 100 to get 100; this is the increase

500+100=$600

If the price is $ 100. then the selling price will be $ 120. ( increase of 20%)


If the price is $ 500. then the selling price will be

= $ 500 X 120 / 100

= $ 600

it would be $600.00. first, you find 20% of 500 which is 100. then you add on 100 to 500 which gives you you're final price.
