500 dollars for a card is expensive and i am not a heavy gamer. but i am going to get windows vista. so i want to be sure that i will be able to get the most of it. i know vista will work fine with direct x 9, i am not sure if direct x 10 will be that much bett or is this a way for manufactures and microsoft to make more money.

No. there's NO such thing as a Directx 10 game!!! by the time the directx10 games are out, that 500 dollar card will be more like 100 dollars with far better cards out. Wait until there are actual games out there for it.

Yes, it is optimised to run with Visa Ultimate!!!!!
Only there is NO software that needs directX 10.
And NO games released for directX 10!
So it is a bit of a waste of money and time.

i'd wait,more direct x10 budget card will be coming out in a month or two alot cheaper, but if you can't wait there is a 8800gts 320mb that is $300 bucks
