Great! TV pictures are excellent, the choice is good and computer connect speeds are very fast. It's a good service.

Absolutely LOVE IT!!! The picture quality is SUPERB and the channel line-up is OUTSTANDING!!! There are also several new features which are not traditionally offered by the cable companies as well so look into the Home Media DVR set-up and also Verizon's Media Manager. (Media Manager is currently limited to streaming picture slide shows and music from your PC to your TV/Entertainment center but is supposed to be updated this year with streaming video from your pc as well...)

I've also got 15/2 internet service and it SO ROCKS!!!

I've had my service for 1 1/2 months now and have had NO major problems at all!! I called the tech center once for video picture quality (some tiling...) and a set-top box lock-up (same instance...) but that's it.

All of the above was said as the paying customer I am, not the Verizon employee I am...so I shall change hats for the rest of this...

From a VZ FiOS Network Technician's point of view...What VZ is doing is leading the telecom, internet and video services into the future. Copper cable is a dying medium for voice, data and video services because it's bandwidth, the amount of information it can transfer at one time, is limited to the electrical limitations of copper wire. Fiber optics, on the other hand, can carry a virtually unlimited amount of data through various techniques of transmission. This enables a much broader variety of services available from any provider who uses fiber as the primary medium for carrying their signal to the home, not just Verizon. VZ is just the largest company to undertake this effort to date.

Also, there is no chance of interference from outside sources on fiber, weather doesn't bother it and neither does distance. The fiber network brings a pure digital signal, in the form of light, all the way to your house and then generates the electrical signals needed for all services at the Optical Network Terminal (ONT) installed at your house. What this means is an INCREDIBLY clear signal for all your services with minimal chance for interference. If the wires in your house are good, the signal will be awesome.

PROS to consider - Incredible quality of service...Network designed for future expansion, allowing more services to be available in the near and distant future...24/7 support for all services...huge channel line-up...incredible internet speeds (which will go up in the future...)

CONS to consider - The ONT (unit connecting your home to the VZ network) is powered by your home's power, meaning you MAY lose telephone services in an extended power outage. It has a battery back-up which should provide dial tone for 4-8 hours, depending on usage...Demand for services is making installation scheduling very challenging (In some locations they're booked for two weeks or longer...)
