There were a few moments when Stone Cold when the crowd booed him. The two that I can remember is after Austin beat The Rock at Wrestlemania because Vince McMahon helped him. Austin was criticized by the audience because their favorite wrestler shook hands and gave his soul to Satan as Jim Ross said. Austin was also a major ******* when he betrayed the WWF and joined WCW/The Alliance in 2001. It was hard to believe that peoples favorite wrestler like Austin who was loved by the crowd did something so horrible like join the competitor of WWF. Even though Stone Cold did do some horrible things that made him hated by the crowd, I still think he was the coolest wrestler. I am a guy that was around during Attitude Era and Ruthless Aggression Era and throughout the years of late 1990s and mid 2000s, Austin was the coolest. Not just because of his wrestling but also because of his entertaining the audience. His whole gimmick was awesome because his gimmick was pretty much himself. A loud-mouth, beer drinkning, middle-finger, rule-breaking, texan, tough SOB. Austin would take on any wrestler without showing fear. He made so many moments memorable. He brought a beer truck and sprayed The Rock and McMahons with beer, drove a zamboni in the ring to tackle Vince, gets arrested multiple times, Stunned his boss Vince many times and this all happened on an episode of Raw. Now this kinda thing would happen on a PPV. Austin and Vince McMahon rivalry was my favorite. Vince was not a wrestler and did not have a lot of matches with each other but the two still made it one of the best and memorable rivalries ever. Whenever Vince would get Stunned by Austin, you would think Austin just won the WWF title because the crowd's reaction was so crazy. His rule-breaking was great. He was never afraid to beat up his boss Vince, disobey Vince's orders, and do what he wanted. Austin had the audience pretty much always on his side, especially in late 90s. If you search on Youtube "mankind vs the rock wwf championship raw" it should be the episode when Austin returns. When he does the crowd goes CRAZY. You can't even hear Austin's theme music because of the crowd. The crowd is the definition of Attitude Era Crowd. When ever Austin would say "Give me a 'HELL YEAH'" the crowd would always give a mighty "HELL YEAH". Austin was the coolest because of his toughness and entertainment.

No, Stone Cold is alive and kicking. Last week a wrestler by the name of Mike Awesome committed suicide. Maybe that's the name you're thinking of.
