I have never head about Evos being illegal and can't think of a good explanation. I am pretty sure that the Evos aren't banned and that they probably need some sort of inspection to pass of some sort. The WRX is legal in Canada and the Evo is no different, so the Evo should be permitted in Canada. I own a Mitsubishi Evo VIII and the car has no reason to be called "unsafe." The Evo has superb handling and the traction makes the car impossible to lose control on any surface. The Evo is one of the best crafted cars that I have seen, especially for the sedan. I am sure that my Evo and any other Evo would never fail to any standards for such. I know Canada is one of the countries with less strict laws than America. Certain imports have been easily imported into Canada as it would have a very hard time in America. Canada is one of the top countries that I doubt, would ban cars such as the Evo. I heard a similar case to this before but couldn't figure out why. No matter what, the Evo will always be legal and pass any standards.

Evo is a total piece of S*** NOT. Canadians would greatly benefit from evos, ever herd of the best traction control system in the world, active yaw control. If you start sliding on ice or snow the car will become a one wheel drive to correct ITSELF!! They dont have to put big bumpers on them cause they dont wreck often. When they do crash it is SERIOUS DRIVER ERROR like drunk driving or driving while stupid. . No reason they should not be in canada. Also no reason that the U.S should not get the Evo FQ-400, I had to pay $65k for mine from Japan. Guess the canadians dont want the public to have a car that will do 90mph on the snow, that sure would suck for the mounties on horses LOL
