50/100 * 80 = 40
80 - 40 = 40
Heather needs a minimum of $40
10/100 * 80 = 8
80 - 8 = 72
She needs to carry a maximum of $72
Her friend's estimate is wrong. She needs to have between $40 and $72

No she is not correct.
explanation is items are 10 to 50 % off you do not know how much % off is that dress so assume it is 10% off and it regularly costs 80$ then it would be 72$ and her friend told her to have 40 to 60$.
Let's assume it is 20% off then it would be 64 dollars and that is also more than 60$ . In conclusion she is incorrect.
Hope this helps.

No, the range she would need would be $40 and $72 dollars. Take 10% and 50% off of $80.

You need to figure out what 10% of $80 is and what 50% of $80
this would give you your range.
if you still don't understand
it would be 80*10/100 = 8
But you need to subtract it from 80 ....so 80-8=$72.00
and 50*50/100 = 40
80-40= $40
So your range would really be $40 - $72

i think its no because 10% off of $80 would be $72 and 50% off of $80 would be $40 so she would need to bring $40-$72. i am not 100% sure but that is what i think. sorry if i'm wrong

No. It would be $40. to $72.
$80. - 10% = $72.

$40-$72
it's $80 to begin with.so that's 80. times .01 which is $8 and subtract that from the starting price which gives you $72
and for 50% you just multiply $80 by .5 which is $40
and $80-$40 =$40
it's easy you just have to remember you can do it in your head, just remember your decimals

the dress costs $80.00......
with the 10% off it will cost $72.00
with the 20% off it will cost $64.00
with the 30% off it will cost $56.00
with the 40% off it will cost $48.00, and
with the 50% off it will cost $40.00., that means that heather will need between $40.00 and $72.00.
