Baby Guinea pig? and how much does a cage cost too? THank you

We paid $35 for ours last December at Petco. We bought it a pretty big cage for $60, and also food bowl, hut, food, timothy hay and bedding. We probably ended up spending about $150 for the whole set up.

Guinea pigs are from south america and most pet stores charge anywhere from 8-10 dollars for one. Cages run about 20-30 depending on how fancy you want it but they don't do wheels like hamsters so it can be a simple wood box with air vents.. some nice hay for bedding and pellets for food along with fresh veggies like carrots. Figure on spending close to 50 to 75 dollars total.

I just bought two for my classroom. They are happier in same sex pairs. They were $32.99 each from PetSmart. They come with a 14 day guarantee. PetSmart only carries one sex- there are female stores and male stores. You can call to ask what they carry. You need at the very least 4-5 square feet per guinea pig for a cage. They need room to run around. I bought an 8 square foot cage for mine from PetSmart. It was $129.99.You can look on the search engine and find lots of info about cages, care, feeding, etc.

Guinea pigs are pretty cheap and you shouldn't have to pay more than $30 for one. You will most likely pay less.
