I don't smoke, but plenty of my friends do. Why not legalize small ammounts, do away with drug testing on the job, and allow people to buy it for medical purposes? It just seems like common sense.

The thing is Herel, a drug test would be testing if the employee had been using on their free time, whereas a breathalizer would tell if the employee was drunk on the job.

YOU GOT THAT RIGHT!!!! I am just like you I don't use it but it IS a waste of time to got after the Small time pot smokers. For crying out loud there are much worse things that we should focus on eliminating. Beside Pot is not that bad...No one has ever come home and beat their wives and kids after smoking pot!!! No one starts bar fights. The worse that can happen to a pot smoker is that they can get very annoying...I had a BF that he was so mellow after smoking pot and happy...and a complete A__hole when he drank and got all edgy on me...and hey that legal. So yes legalize pot....you know what it will also boost the economy.

I think it should be legalized. I also think that if anyone kills someone as a result of being high should be charged with murder. I do not think they should do away with drug tests however. An employer should have the right to not want a pothead for an employee and if they screw up and the employer has reason to think they were high and it happened as a result, if the employer wants them drug tested and they fail they should be fired and held responsible for any damages. I think this should go for alcohol too.

There you go, common sense, fat chance of anything like that going on here. Why do something that will save the tax payers gozillions of dollars in pauper atty. fees, court time, jail space, re-hab programs etc. Just stay the course, I mean it's not like we aren't slowing the weed usage down or anything. Oh! Wait, we aren't. And those weed smokers, what a violent bunch they are. Oh! Wait, they're not. And all of those weed over-doses, wait...............anyway, what was I saying? Something about weed. Oh yeah, how about this............treat it like tomatoes. Everybody around here grows tomatoes. They are cheap too. People sell them along the road sides in the summer. No tax on them either. No tomato cartells are trying to import them and siphon undeterminable amounts of cash out of the country. No body trys to rob a gas station when they run out. Just grow them and enjoy them like God intended. Spend all the money we save on getting rid of Meth, Crack, and Heroin, things that are really harmfull instead of wasting time and money on the most benign drug out there. Ever see anyone get good and high on weed and try to make their car go 700 miles an hour? Shoot you have to coax them up to 40. Never seen someone smoke weed and walk into a biker bar and anounce " I'm going to whip the baddest *** in here!" Nope not once. To busy smiling and trying to find a pizza. Maybe some day when enough law makers who know left from right get in the right place and with thier balls intact they will make a change, untill then.....................same ole dame ole.

It is simply a rumour that Marijuana is legal or decriminalized in Canada. It is illegal, you will be fined or charged with possession. The only big difference is that you are unlikely to be tossed in jail for a small amount, it is more likely you will face a fine and probation.

no. we should go a step beyond and make it as legal as alcohol and tobacco. All the negative info on it was government generated and does not stand up to peer review. as for the studies that show benefits, those researchers welcome others to review what they have done. but who minds being scrutinized if they have done honest work?

You are right.
Legalise, EDUCATE, regulate and tax!
That would really solve a lot of problems, but it will never happen.
It's too 'logical' for politicians to understand.

I don't smoke it either but I think it should be legalized. I don't think it's any more or less harmless than alcohol and that is legal.
