I don't know the physiology of it, but when I turned 35 I suddenly felt like I had wisdom. I don't know why except that my 34th year was the worst of my life and I had finally made it through.
How did it feel? It felt like I could begin to make decisions with an experienced view of the world. I was no longer guessing if this was the way I should live or that was what I should do. Not that I never had problems making a decision again, but I knew I would be more wise from then on.

Though processes can dim due to disease or injury but both young people and older people are suseptible to either.
Life Experience makes you wiser, not thought processes.

As I've gotten older, I think I'm DEFINITELY wiser (I'm 45). I have encountered situations (and people) that when I was younger, I would have DEFINITELY been "sucked into"... but now I'll look at that same circumstance with a "different set of lenses" (experience, perhaps?) - and my decisions have been much more successful (and less painful) as a result of this insight.
Hope that made sense, I'm kinda tired... LOL...

I think so. The way I think and how I process information has definitely changed as I have aged. It has gotten better.
As we age, we learn a lot more, experience and lot more and tend to utilize that knowledge.

we have every opportunity to become wiser as we grow older, but whether we do or not is a matter of choice. there are some really foolish older people out there---people who should know better.

We acquire more knowledge and experience to do things differently for a better outcome.
(we may be a little slower but we do know what we're doing).
