That's a hard one! You know your mom better than anyone else. This probably won't help you much but I had to do it myself a couple of times. Write her a letter. This way there are no interruptions, you can get your point across and you don't have to do it right the first time. You can say what you want in the letter over and over until you get it perfect. It's less emotional. Let her find it when your not around, that way if she does get upset, she will have time to cool off. Maybe she thinks your too young. Maybe she is afraid you will starve yourself or end up on heavy drugs. It's scary for your mom to think about those things. Compromise with her, you need to take into consideration that she is just being protective. And for good reasons! However in the letter you can address all of the issues you think she might be dealing with. Show her how mature you are in the letter! Don't give it to her until it's perfect! Even if it does take a week. If there is one thing in the letter she doesn't like, that might be the end of your modelling career! Until you turn 18 that is. :) Good luck.

Why don't you two try to meet halfway? Ask if you can just take some acting classes, nothing paid yet. If she sees that you really like it, maybe she'll start to encourage you. You really don't need to think much about money--maybe she doesn't want you to get a job becasue she wants you to focus on friends and school. Models have to work hard.

But you want me to guess at why she's saying no? It's because you're so young and pretty and a lot of girls your age who are pretty really try to stay skinny even if it's not healthy for them to.

Your body is about to go through some major changes in the next few years because you're going to be growing up, and you're going to get bigger--she probably doens't want you to get self-conscious. She wants you to live your childhood free of worrying whether you are pretty enough or thin enough. She knows that you're about to get to an age where it will really matter to you.

How about you just ask her to let you try it a couple of times? Or, you can ask her to let you dress up in some of your cutest clothes and "model" for her at home, and she can take pictures. It might be fun to do together, and maybe if you prove that you won't take your work too seriously, she'll let you do it.

If you really, really want to, just bring it up every once in a while and when she sees it isn't just a whim maybe she'll change her mind. But even if she says no, remember that she really only wants what is best for you.

Sit down and talk to her about her reasons of why she is against it. If you are really passionate and not going on just what other people think you should do cry your eyes and beg her.Tell her that you believe that this is what you want to do your whole life. Also I think you should wait not to put a damper on your dreams but when your 18 no one can stop you from grabbing your dream and conquering it. Plus you have 7 years to create one of the baddest runway walks ever seen. To workout and get a true model body. God Bless!!!!!!!

I think all 11 year olds want to be a model. The lifestyle is impractical and invasive. Be beautiful for you - not for others!
Then you don't have to worry about dodging the media when you just want to go for a cup of coffee!
It's not all glam!

maybe it's not that she doesn't believe in you but you're still a child why ruin that? Models too also have to be 5'8 and at 11 honey i don't think you're 5'8 or above. Also it's a harsh world in the modeling world, and sometimes dark things lurk, in a sheep's clothes.

ur mom might think that maybe u arnt responsible enough or thinks that the modeling buisness may make u or brake u(u might get turned down and be sad about it) or she might think its not a stable career for a gurl ur age..........all u can do is just show her that ur responsible and u can take being judged and brought down if people dont like u

i agree with your mom.
if you think about it,
modelling is stupid.
you get paid to have people take pictures of you.
its all stupid.
you'll understand when you are older,
not 11 years old.
