I heard that when you know someone who is pregnant, you are more likely to get pregnant. After I told everyone that I was pregnant, five of my friends have become pregnant...Is that weird or what?

I'm not talking about pregnancy being contagious in the literal sense...I just think it's cool that things work out like that.

I don't think half of you get what I'm trying to say. I'm not saying that pregnancy is literally contagious, that would just be silly of me...

Martin N.- So you're saying that everyone that gets pregnant sleeps around.?..All of my friends that are pregnant are in committed relationships.

:) It seems that way anyway, of course we know otherwise but I would say that if around the same ages baby fever kicks in and more people start thinking about it. As for everyone pregnant sleeping around, I slept with my hubby only. :) I've also heard must be in the water or everyone must have eaten to many water melon seeds. Also, I went to the hospital with my best friend who had just had a baby and found out a week later I took a test to find out I was 8 weeks pregnant. We had been trying 6 years to get pregnant only to find out we were pregnant and we had given up having a child. Weird how it works. *LOL* I don't drink the same water but it was funny all the same. Also, the day of my wedding my sisters (my matron of honor and bridemaid (also matron but not really a name for a married bridemaid)) were only 5 months apart from each other.

17 weeks pregnant with 1st.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I am currently 37 weeks pregnant and my sister found out that she was pregnant after christmas and is currently 11 weeks. It really cool because I had my baby shower last sunday and it was cun because we got to share the spot light. Alot of family hadn't seen her since she found out and here I am about to deliver. I think that it is contagious in the way that you are talking about.

Seems to be the case not only with pregnancy, but also weddings. A friend of mine got engaged shorly after me, and then married 6 months after me. And then 2 of my husband's cousins had babies around the same time as we had our daughter. Now that I am pregnant with #2, a lot of moms in my daughter's playgroup are also getting pregnant with their second. It is weird, but I think that once one person is doing it, others begin thinking about making that same step.

Maybe they crave the attention, or maybe you're just at a good point in your life. Probably, if one friend sees that you are taking this step and being successful, they are more willing to be brave and make the step themselves. But there's nothing hormonal that causes you to get pregnant just because you know someone who is. But it's definitely a weird coincidense.

I don't actually believe it is contagious, but things like that tend to happen. I worked at KFC and seriously, EVERYONE (all the girls) that worked there all had babies around the same time, ALL of us within a year.

ha! Our work has the same problem right now!!! 6 of us pregnant at the same time. But when you consider we are all between 20 & 30 and most of us married... It's just funny timing!

I don't think contagious is the right word for it but i know what you mean. I think people love babies so much that when they see one or know someone is having one, they want one too!

That is kinda weird! What I have found, though, is that one person getting pregnant makes other people start thinking about it more, and it's kind of like "well, if they can do it, so can we".

Lol... seems like it huh? When one of my best friends got pregnant, the rest of us followed. Coincidentally, all of our kids are exactly 10 mths apart and it is 4 of us! That's crazy!
