I am a critical care RN and work 12 hr shifts it would be a 14 hr day by the time I droped her off and picked her up. I realize that is a very long day but not shure I can get 8 hr shifts instead.

I have never heard about time limits for day care. Having someone come to your house might be better.

Sorry, do not know about WA state law, but in most states it is a ten hour maximum. That allows you up to 1 hr. drive time to and from work on top of an 8 hr. shift. Do you have any friends or relatives nearby who could watch her for an hour or two before you got off work?

Do you have a relative or close friend that can watch your baby? Or maybe split up the time that she would be at her daycare? maybe the dad can watch her part-time if he is in the picture. Definately see if close friends and family can help out. Not only will it create a strong bond among family members, but also be much cheaper.

Since your going to be gone so much, and your child is still young is it possible for you to have someone live in? It can work out cheaper, your child is at home and you wont have to worry about what to do with them when they get sick.
