the only reason y he said he would buy it is because we just got a 60'' high def plasma. And no plasma is complete with out a high def dvd player. And it happens that a high def dvd player is built in to the ps3. Regular high def dvd player cost 1000 dallors. the only reason y he would buy it is because he would save $400. How can i get my dad to buy me a ps3? How do i say it to him? How do i present it? And i dont want to bribe him with saying "i will get straight A's for this quarter" cause that is hella hard

Earn it.

Either set up a pay rate that he would pay you for extra chores around the house (other than your typical stuff like cleaning your room) and you would buy it. Or set up a system that you do certain chores a set number of times each, and once you complete them all, he'll buy it.

Well I dont really get what your problem is. If your dad already said he would buy it for the dvd part of the system and it saves him money then just ask him to buy it. But if things dont work that way in your house then I suggest the following thing:

Ask your dad on a weekend day (or a day that you know he isnt stressed from work) and ask him what kind of dvd player he was wanting to get for the new t.v. And then if he brings up the part where he wishes they werent so much money you could suggest getting the Ps3 because it is much cheaper than the other dvd players, it also is a high def one too, and it would also bring fun for the whole family because you could play games together ect.

Dont go for whole begging act. It doesnt work, trust me. The more me and my sister whine my parents move farther and farther away from making the desicion we want. The best thing you can do is convince him. Do some research on the dvd player in the PS3 and give him some facts about it that bring it higher than the other dvd players out there (besides the price).

I hope things work out for you! Good luck! Bye!

Tell him that Blu-Ray is the way to go for next gen HD content. PS3 is the cheapest Blu-Ray player you can get that also is a pretty good gaming system, photo viewer, music player, internet accessor, etc.

Oh, then get straight A's this quarter and pout a lot.

You broke that down very well and a logical persona can't argue with numbers, show that information clearly written to your dad, maybe offer to work for or pay for half, tell him it would mean a lot, be good!
