The top 5 teams in the nation right now are easy to spot.

1.) Wisconsin
2.) Ohio State
3.) UNC
4.) UCLA
5.) Memphis

Wisconsin and Ohio State will play tomorrow night and even though Wisconsin lost earlier this week @ Michigan State, they are still the best team in the country. They are the finest team I've ever seen run the floor. It's an insane task to go into Michigan State and win and they came up short. They are going to prove Sunday they are better then Ohio State, who is too young and inexperienced to make a run deep in march.

UNC is number 3 but they are barely there. They have so much talent and probably the best coach in the land with Roy Williams. His biggest flaw is playing too many guys. His starters never get a rhythem and that will cost them.

UCLA is talented, hands down, but they are walking around with a target on their back.

Memphis is the wildcard here. They are ranked 7th and are in a horrible conference. They blow everyone out buy 20+ points and still don't get respect. They have 3 losses all to ranked teams and two of those losses were close games till the end when they just kind of gave up. That shows that they are young. In march they could either go out first/second round or go all the way. It's up to them. The only talent they see until march is themselves at practice.

College basketball teams are ranked according to how they perform. There are a few rankings out there, the most generally accepted are either the Associated Press version (currently has Wisconsin, Ohio State, Florida, UCLA, North Carolina as the top 5) and the USA Today/ESPN poll (Ohio State, Wisconsin, Florida, UCLA, North Carolina). As you can tell, these polls slightly differ. Rankings are given in the preseason with consideration given to returning players and incoming freshmen/transfers. The teams are ranked during the season every week, with polls coming out on Monday. Basically it's just sportswriters ranking teams based on if they won or not, who they beat, and then their position relative to other teams. The best team in college basketball is ultimately the team that wins the NCAA Tournament.

North Carolina will be number two- starting to hit their stride in the ACC

UCLA will be three- Big win over Stanford.

1. North Carolina - by far the most talented team. They are one of the best offensive, defensive, and rebounding teams in the land.
2. Florida - return every starter from a national championship team, and you are definitely top 5.
3. Ohio State - Oden, Conley, & Cook are awesome.
4. Wisconsin - Alando Tucker. 'nuff said there.
5. Kansas - they are really peaking right now, completely dismantling their opponents.
