Since it is somewhat of an old movie, I was just wondering why it was rated R. Please list some of the violent and gory scenes, and if you could, please list the age level that it is appropriate for.

the R rating was due to tthe opening sequence, with the nudity in the girl's shower room, and adult situations, such as Nancy Allen giving John Travolta a "blowj@b", in the car.

Are you effing serious? You're a douche bag! She's your WIFE not your child! She's a grown woman. You can't tell other grown people what they can watch! Someone needs to protect her from YOU! I'll bet you feel the need to "discipline" her too don't you? This is 2009, not some distant time where women were subservient and treated as children. You don't need a wife. You need a kid. And I actually don't think you need one of those because they'd probably just rebel against you! Get a life dude!

Occult themes, violence, blood, brief nudity.

By todays standards prolly would have got pg 13, but that option didn't exist back then.

1. carrie was in the shower, gets her period (no really censorship there)
2. she kills ppl with her powers. she sets the gym on fire with these powers and things fall on ppl to make it bloody.
3. she goes in the bathtub to wash herself off and her mother comes in with a knife...(yeah, not ruining that scene. kinda important.) anyways, one of them dies...bloody.

i dont remember the rest. sorry
