It is kind of strange but it has become very popular here in the US, especially black socks with black sandals and girls wear fancy socks with open toe shoes.
I know that it has been done for thousands of years as far back as ancient Egypt and is traditional in countries like Japan, Korea and China but for some reason in the west it is, or at least was considered to be poor fashion sense.
But not anymore it seems as I see lots of guys wearing low cut athletic socks with sandals and lots of girls wearing socks with open toe shoes and high heel sandals as well.
Do you?
Or does it still make you crazy to see people wearing socks and sandals together?

I reckon go for it. Fashion is never static and is always changing, why not change to some thing that makes sense. When wearing socks and open shoes your feet are at their healthiest and most protected. Closed in shoes traps heat and water in, creating a unfriendly foot environment. Sandals make the foot to perspire more then normal, because of the materials they are made out of. But wearing a sock and sandals gives the foot the ability to have water wicked away, kept warm and protected while still allowing the foot to breath. I say fashion should be something of common sense.

Whatever you may have seen, sandals and athletic/fancy socks is still a fashion no-no! The only time I have ever seen anyone wear sandals and socks is after going to the gym, and just taking off their sneakers and putting on the athletic sandals.

Just say NO to socks with sandals!
For heaven's sake - what is the point? Yes it drives me absolutely insane. You're right, it's been done for ages. Yet, I find it annoying. Just wearing athletic shoes. Less breezey on the toes, and all-the-better just in case you drop something on your foot!
Oh, and while we're on the subject - no sandals at all if you don't care for your feet. PLEASE get a pedicure.
Whew. That felt good. Thank you!
