Well I'm 16 and had my first interview Thursday for Texas Roadhouse. I found out I did well on the test they gave me over the menu (a 89%) and he said he would let me know Friday or Saturday after he talked to the manger (He was one o fthe managers I'm guessing because he hired people) that had first met me and gave me the menu test. So I'm really hoping to get this job because I love the place, and I know some people who work there and its close but I didn't do so well on the interview I got all nervous I didn't do bad I just didn't do as well as I hoped the first mangare before the interview that gave me the test seemed to like me, and I'm flexiable to work anytime after school so.. how much do they weigh the interview if one of the mangers likes you for sure you think and if you did well on the test but you weren't anything speical during the interview idk Iand also am i suppose to write a thank you letter? its my first interview i've ever had so im clueless..

Dress up. Wear nice clothes. Shake hands. Use the words, SIR, THANK YOU, PLEASE, EXCUSE ME. ....

You are about to venture into the service industry. Let them know you LOVE to work hard. Let them know you are a TEAM player.

Yes, always write a thank you note for them taking the time to see you. Make yourself stand out as the nice one. The polite one. The one who makes an impression.

The key to waitstaff positions is appearance, dependability, and outgoing personality. They will never admit that but it is true. Most resturants look for female employees(brings more business) but you still have a chance! If you smiled and felt relaxed in the interview, then you should be ok. If you don't hear from them in 4 days, go back up there and have lunch during the least busy part of the day. Usually this is right at opening. Then just get the managers attention and have a normal conversation. Let him bring up the subject of your employment, if it is a different manager than the one that interviewed you maybe ask him if he can put in a good word for you and that he will not regret it. Good luck and be sure and let us know how it goes!

this is not the type of job for a thank you letter, but it cant hurt you at this point, the interview has a lot to do with it and the manager who knows you does too, hopefully the manager has some pull,
if you dont hear from them in a week give them a call, that cant hurt either, dont waste time waiting either, start looking at other places,
i know you have friends here but you will meet other cool people anywhere else you go, next interview try to take 5 huge deep breaths, that will calm you down, remember to sound confident in what you say even if you dont know what you are talking about,
I interview a lot of people
good luck

Hehe, all my job interviews were easier. I just told them I need a job and money.

Then they tell me to come back next week and work.
