There is a stop-loss program in the military that allows the military to call soldiers back into active duty after their original enlistment period, which has been decried as a "backdoor draft". As well, the time frame between tours of duty in Iraq have been shortened well beyond previous regulations. When a tour of duty is over, a soldier may still be enlisted and placed on duty somewhere outside of active combat. However, they are often brought back to Iraq after as little as one year.

There is legislation in Congress pending that would limit this, reducing or eliminating the stop-loss programs so that soldiers cannot be recalled after the end of their enlistment period. There is also a call for soldiers to be given more rest time between tours of active duty in Iraq.

Bush doesn't personally make the call for any one soldier. Military commanders do.

I comprehend what you're saying. by skill of extending the excursions of accountability, the troops replace into demoralized, and a few replace into sloppy and are lots extra in all probability to alter into casualties. They have been despatched over with a definitive time or excursion, and mutually as they're doing their accountability, the government extends it, from 12 to fifteen, now 18 months. I probability a wager that as quickly as the 18 month ingredient nears, that's going to be prolonged to 24. this way that's stated that 'we' arent' sending anymore troops. physique bags are affordable and explaining a failed reason to American public by skill of the political party who needs to maintain the presidential seat of their possession is in basic terms too high priced to calculate. even with each and every thing, I heard an area conservative politician state that with the 'volunteer' militia it is in basic terms the n-word, white trash, migrants, and different riff raff, so what's the vast deal in the event that they don't come abode. that's going to be much less on the welfare rolls. of course, he will by no skill get a vote from this sector.

President Bush does not tell them to go back, the military orders them back & yes they can & do serve more than one tour unless their time is up & they are discharged from the service.
It is no different with the Reserves, they may be deployed more than once.

they are forced. Isn't America great? Being forced to go to war for a president 70% of our country dissaproves of. Tony Blair is pulling out British troops, and Cheney says thats because the war is going so well. Yet US troops are being forced into additional tours of duty. Another helping of propaganda anyone?

well in WWII the enlistmeant was "for the Duration" and that ment to the end of the conflict...don't be surprised if a war broke out and all the military was held "for the Duration"...it has been done before and will probably be used again as we have strung out our troops in to many foreign countries now.
And hey, this is a volunteer military right? When you lifted your hand and take that Oath this is part of the pledge..

Being a soldier is their job. If the President says you have another tour in Iraq, then you will have another tour in Iraq. Do you think anyone would willingly volunteer to go to war?

It is not up to Bush to decide. Troop rotations are handled by complex algorithms. There is just no simple explanation. FOX News say so. It has got to be.

I agree with BDOLE. My son was in Iraq, he is still on the list of possible call back. And no, ol prez does not call you back. Uncle Sam does.

When you volunteer you are told what you are up against. My brother said it is in plain English print that when your time is up if they need you for the next 5 yrs after your time is up they can recall you. Read the fine print!!!!
