With encouragement to spend unlimited amounts of bucks and often a very limited education, combined with yes men telling you how gorgeous and talented and desirable your are it's no wonder!
Also look at young sports figures. Who said youth is wasted on the young?
I think you're 100% right!

I don't know about the numbers, but it seems like there are more celebrities with subtance abuse issues and I think it makes sense. They've got all the money and access anyone could want. They have powerful connections. They have jobs that don't require them to get up every morning. They are often removed from the families and seem disconnected from the rest of society. While we might look at them and think what a wonderful life, I think few of them are prepared to handle the amount of money, access, power, and privilege they have. It amounts to pressure and substance abuse would be a perfect coping mechanism. Too analytical?

I think they just get more attention than your average street bum or corporate junkie. They also have more cash to spend on it than the rest of us.
I think there are more celebrities doing good than bad, the media just focuses on the bad cuz thats what the public craves, unfortutately.
Sad that "Britney goes to rehab" will sell more magazines than "Brangelina gives millions to famine relief"
Another question to ponder: Why would the American public rather hear about the sex, drugs, violence and suffering instead of the better things in the world?
Could it have something to do with athiests and other anti-religious folks trying to remove God from the country that was founded on His teachings?

No, you're right, as is the guy before me - celebrities are very undeducated, probably rather stupid, too (hence no education), surrounded by butt-kissers, detached from the real world. How would, say, Anglina be friends with you or me? She has nothiing to say, she knows nothing, and she couldn't even just come by without paparazzi vultures and stupid fans gathering in minutes. You coouldn't go to see her often because you have a life, scholl/job, family, and such. So they are isoolated in the world of equally shallow, bland, stupid and empty people, with tons of money, what else is there to do in such completely worthless lives?

The one bad thing for celebrities is nobody tells them NO...If they want it, they get it, and they have people all around them who instead of telling them HELL NO, say okay!!!!!!
Nobody wants to make them upset. Some friends...
