I have a neighbor who has about eighty bowling balls in her front yard. I finally found out that she grew up in a family of eleven kids. Gotta set yourself apart somehow.

Clearly they want for people to just ask, so get someone else to do it then ask them. You don't want any crazy people latching on to you. They will start showing up at your house at 3am wanting to play strip Parcheesi.

It either means that the owner wants the house to have a soul,or that they are insane. I opt for the last one.

Why don't you ask them? I am pretty sure they are just for decoration, though it does seem a little strange.
