Is the dunk contest DEAD...???

Every or at least 99% of the dunk conceivable has already been done...Windmills, 360s, under the legs, behind the back,off the glass, freethrowline dunk...Heck, players these days are so athletic that they even combine two elements into one dunk like the 360 windmill by VC, double windmill by Kadour Ziani, under the legs off the glass by J-Rich, 360 under the legs by AUT, windmill off freethrow line by james white, hecck even the 720 has been done!!!WHAT NEXT??? You have the 2 times under the legs dunk???

And so, naturally the players have to be more creative by incorporating "creative" elements in their dunk...You have the dunk by alley-ooping from the head(steve nash style), doing cartwheels before dunking and pasting stickers on top of the backboard before dunking, dunking with eyes closed etc and they bring in props like tables and chairs and what next???...Hmmm makes me wonder when has the dunk contest became a circus show???

IT'S DEAD,... like that squirl I ran over today.

It's last hope was Dwight Howard, but MJ had to be an a$$ and give him a bad score. He had better dunks coming too. They where more creative than the sticker dunk. Impossible you say??

If you can't get the video the dunks that he didn't get to do is the one where he jumps up and kisses the rim. That's his patented dunk. And the last one he jumps up and actually hits the side of his head on the rim. Even for a big guy those dunks are incredible.

The Dunk Contest became an entire shaggy dog tale this year... in fact, the full all action picture star Saturday became a waste of time. Its been dead since 2005 (When J-Rich didn't compete) Kadour Ziani should be in the dunk contest, he is the greatest dunker on planet earth, he is sick. This year wasn't screative at all...they should just end the dunk contest if their isnt any flavor.

The dunk is getting old, and as such cannot be made new every year.

There should be a dunk content every 2 or 3 years; Then they might not be judging.

it's not dead as in like the dunks people are doing. It's dead like the NBA is being retarted and not inviting the best dunkers to compete. I think as loyal fans we deserve a dunk contest with Kobe, Vince, LeBron, and TMac. Don't you agree?

I enjoyed the dunk contest. I thought the dunks were creative. I know they weren't the best dunks I ever saw but still they were cool dunks.

The NBA is dead for not allowing the dunkers that should be in the dunk contest compete. Vinsanity and J Rich and T-Mac and LeBron: those guys should be in it.

I think with dwight howard using the sticker, the dunk contest is officially over. everything else looks similar and we've seen it before. Unless someone can do a backflip dunk, i think we've seen it all
