curiosity about infidelity?

I have never had the temptation to cheat on anyone that I have loved, but I know people who pledge undying love for thier other and yet do. I am just curious about this as I have no understanding. Any insight as to what drives people to do this from a male or female prospective? I also wonder if men who do not cheat are constantly tempted but control it????

I think infidelity comes from a guy/girl searching for what they want that they are not getting from their current partner.

This could be either they:
a. Have unreasonable wants (i.e. threesomes with playboy models)
b. Are not getting what they want from their current partner. It could be their fault (i.e. travelling a fair bit) or just different views on sex/love/etc.

I think there's always some temptation. It really depends on how much we feel we need what we can't have.

When I have been single I like to have two relationships going at the same time. I feel more secure and loved that way. It is also more exciting. I don't know if you call that cheating because usually one guy has known about the other. They usually don't like it. Either they leave or get more serious. Never cheated on my husband though. He has passed on.

I am going to answer this question as honestly as possible. I have been married for two years almost and i have cheated on my husband. He was distant and wouldnt give me any attention, never talked to me, and stayed on his video games all the time. A friend of mine was there for me to talk to, who is also married and was going through similar problems. Neither one of us was getting any sex from our partners. At first we were just talking, and when i realized what was really going on, i tried to end it with this other man. But i only found myself thinking of him more and more. I couldnt stand not talking to him for more than a day. I fell in love with him, and said that he loved me, but in the end i cut it off with him because i realized that even though my husband was not being a true husband, it would still hurt him. To this day i still find myself thinking about this guy, and wondering what could have happened. had my husband been giving me what i needed i prolly wouldnt have been looking. Either way, it is not justifiable. But different people cheat for different reasons. it all depends on the persons situation

Yes men who do not cheat are constantly tempted and hate their girlfriends for making them feel guilty which prevents them from cheating. So if you want him to love you let him cheat. Also other reasons that men don't cheat is because they have poor sexual endurance and are too embarrassed to. Or they just can't find someone willing to get lay ed with them.

you are right on one thing that the temption is there , next is how and if we control it . 3 weeks after I got married i droped my wife off at work and saw a young women hitchhiking and second glance at her saw that see was pregant , so I decided to give her a ride , it started to rain so even though it was way out of my way I told her I would take her there , she told me she was seperated and asked if I wanted to party . was very tempting but I had to pass and I think on some level that she was mad that I didn't want to get it on with her , thhat was almost 27yrs ago and I'm still married , but the temption is still out there

Sex and love are two different things. Sticking your penis in someone does not equal love. You can be invested in someone emotionally but still be attracted to other people.
