In both cases the President (Kennedy and Bush Jr.) fabricated a pretence for an invasion.

As soon as Kennedy's invasion (by Cuban exiles) started to go wrong he abandoned them at the Bay of Pigs and then just pretended like nothing happened and went back bonking movie stars in the White House --- "the heck with the Cubans" was his motto.

Bush Jr., who for some reason (small weeny??) has to keep proving how tough he is, keeps pouring money and human lives into Iraq -- all for no justifiable reason. Oh he thought he some some weapons of mass destruction. Dick Chaney, the great white quail (not Quayle) hunter, was more of a threat to any American's safety than anybody in Iraq. Just ask Harry Whittington.
