I think the tanned look is gross but that's just me. Now, about half of all smokers die of smoking related illnesses but probably not that many tanners die of skin cancer, so no with regards to health. However, both heavy smoking and excessive tanning can make your skin look nasty and I would guess equally so.

I think they are both bad for the same reasons.
1. They are addictive. Yes, people can be addicted to tanning. Obviosuly cigarettes are worse.
2. Both cause cancer.
3. Both make you look older than you really are - wrinkles, spots and lines appear sooner.

yes they have the same effects. Cancer, wrinkles and age spots. Also believe it or not tanning is addictive. It releases chemicals into your system that make you feel good, so you have to keep going back to it.

i will never go to a tanning bed. the are awful and there are enough things out there that cause cancer. why add another to the list if you dont haveta?!

Yes and no.I think that it is bad for ALL people,but for white people it is really bad.I am a black/white women and i will NEVER use a tanning bed!

dont do either get the spay tan from walgreens it is a little brown tanning gun and buy the kit first on sale now and u can buy additional cartrifges...I love it and you dont look orange

Yes, both are extremely dangerous and unhealthy, yet people still use sunbeds and smoke. I guess they don't care about the long term consequences.
