That depends on who you ask. If you need to have one yourself, you might ask someone you trust and feel comfortable with to help you, unless you are having it done at the doctors office or hospital, they have experience, so most of them try to be gentle and it helps if you are relaxed.

They can be a little discomforting and when you do it you must be careful not to use too much pressure as you can rupture you intestine. Slow and easy is the best way to get the full benefits from it.
