how can i start an acting carreer as a teenager in seattle?

i really want to start to act in film, theater, or whatever soon!!!
i have what it takes, but the theaters around me arent open for auditions right now, and i dont want to do musicals...
can anybody help me??????
somewhere to get me started in seattle?

Ask your acting teacher what he or she recommends to begin your acting career.

Get some experience. I don't know where you are currently in levels of experience, but you're gonna need experience to get anywhere. Do whatever you can. Your school probably has theatre, there may be community theatres around, all sorts of things. Try everything. You really should try musicals. They're put on much more often than straight plays, they tend to have much larger casts, and they'll get you experience. Once you get a few parts in musicals, if even chorus to small speaking roles, you'll have the experience and knowledge to get a better part it a play. You could also take acting classes. Make sure you refine your talents before you go onto big auditions.

With your parent's permission (of course)... sign up for the Yahoo group called Performer's Callboard. They will send you emails of audition announcements for film, commericals, and theatre in the Seattle area... the link is below.

If your in school and a teenager, then try your school. If you have already and you want to take the next step, then you should find out what local webpages have auditions info. Just go to the local theathers and ask. Thats all it takes.

Join community theater and get involved.. Go to International Thesbian Festivals. Its kind of cheap, and its realllly fun.
