Is Patrick Dempsey (who plays Derek/McDreamy on the show) really leaving Grey's Anatomy?? There are rumours that he's leaving coz he doesnt like where his character is headed and stuff, but is it really happening ?"? Please no !! The show would be nothing without McDreamy !!

That would be stupid. His character is just getting to the point that he is opening up and developing relationships with other characters. He is becoming friends with Preston. He is becoming a couple with Meredith. And, he is becoming a surgeon in the truest sense of the word having to deal with life and death and his God fixation. He can't save everyone. And the more he has to open up and explain himself the harder it will be to come to grips with the reality that he can not save everyone. It is a tough thing to explain to others because then they might ask "So why try?". And there goes his whole career.

No I am pretty sure that McDreamy is staying. The rumors I heard were that Addison would be leaving and going on a spin off of the show.

I HOPE NOT.. i didn't hear anything about it and i hope his not leaving. I Love McDreamy. If he left the ratings would go down. I would be soo sad cuz its one of my favorite shows + Patrick Dempsey is sooooo hot! he betterr not leave the show because it is amazing right now..im hoookkeddd : )

I would be sad if Patrick Dempsey left. He's been one of my favorite actors since Can't Buy Me Love!

I heard that Addison was going to do a spin-off, and my reaction, was "How can she carry one off, she's not that great"........BUT then when she and McSteamy made that pact about sex,,,,,I thought, "OH, she's going to take him with her to the spin-off, THEN I would follow them to their spin-off!"---SO far as McDREAMY goes,,,,,,,,,,,,I haven't heard about him leaving, I can't imagine why,,,he's got it made here...,who really heard of him much before this show, I think it would be a poor career move.---so far as the show goes, it could survive without him, but only if McSteamy took up the slack.....

oh please people leave shows all the time and they survive...how long before this story line between the 2 gets old and boring,oh i forgot it already is old and boring
