It depends on the bank. Some banks allow you to remove your name in person by walking in to bank, if you have a debit card you must also surrender the debit card. Again, each bank has their own policy. I work for a bank and I know at my bank secondary or primary can remove themselves from a joint a account with out the others consent. Now at a local bank that belongs to my ex girlfriend, we both had to be present.

depends how it was sit up. If the first was a minor and you a parent, or you a guardian or just as a boyfriend and girlfriend ?
you will need to get with your bank and see
I found out when I wanted one removed it depended on the account. one was Mary and Bob and we both had to do it. One was Mary or Bob and I could do it
