My fish is mainly blue with red fins. It looks like some sort of barb. It is very, very active. It relentlessly chases my two tiger barbs.

You may have what is commonly called a green tiger barb but sometimes looks quite blue. They are shaped exactly like tiger barbs.

If you have a picture you could post and link to no doubt someone here can identify it.

Could be any of the following (see photos):

Green tiger barb - http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Display.cfm?pCatId=1005

Colombian tetra - http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Display.cfm?pCatId=1112

Red-tail botia - http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Display.cfm?pCatId=2102

All these are schooling fish that should be kept in schools of 5-6+. Otherwise they have a tendency to be fin nippers. The barb and botia would be the most aggressive of the three.

If not one of these, could you post a photo or give more description?

why have you bought a fish that you can't even identify let alone know how to keep? Do some research before purchases. Maybe your fish-keeping experiences will be better...
