I believe it is the other way around...the state of your body depends on the state of your mind......
for me the chain of events is
spirit.....a sense
mind..a thought
emotions..a feeling
physical body..a doing
If I feel out of balance in my spirit and do nothing about it I have an unbalanced thought...and if I do nothing about the unbalanced thought I have out of balanced feelings which in turn causes unbalanced physicality.
Weight gain or loss is a good example...
spirit says...seek beauty
mind says... I am not beautiful
emotions say...I don't feel beautiful
physical says....I will eat this or not eat this ...and as a result there is extremes in weight gain or loss.
on the other hand
spirit says...seek beauty
mind says.....harmony, balance, wisdom
emotions say.....inner peace, self knowledge, I can do it, I am capable
physical says....healthy choices, wise decisions, action...and as a result there is a balanced and healthy person.

The physical state of your body no, the physical state of the brain yes. You can become depressed or elated just by eating and drinking, and via various drugs! This alters the chemicals in the brain which makes us feel happy or sad! We tend to think about things differently then so yes it would effect your state of mind.
When the body is injured or fighting/spreading disease it will be in that state regardless of how you feel about it, or if we even know.
You can have a disease long before the symptoms show! If you don't know your state of mind is governed by other things and then altered perhaps when you do, that is governed not by the body but by the knowledge that something is happening to the body!
I think the soul is separate from the mind! Perhaps its our sub-conscious rather than conscious part! The body is only it's vehicle for this life!

The state of the body does have a lot to do with the mind. I think that mind and body influence each other greatly. However, the mind and the sould are two seperate things. We are not our bodies. We are not our minds. We are our souls. The soul is eternal and unchanging.

yes! your body is the material side of you. if all systems are go, the mind will flourish. the mind also can affect the body... in fact your mind has the ability to fix the body (by using ki). research reki...oh and the soul is a completely seperate thing dont confuse that. souls are eternal, but travel throughout different minds (example... some drunks get mean right? well thier mind is rejecting thier body, but can't escape so a different soul takes over) i know its confusing.......

BECAUSE A LOT OF TIMES THOSE WHO ARE VERY WELL FIT ARE THE ONES WHOSE MIND ARE ALL MESSED UP WITH PROBLEMS, PERSONAL OR OTHERWISE, AND THOSE WHO ARE VERY SICK AND UNFIT ARE THE ONE WHO ARE VERY MUCH IN SYNC WITH THEIR SOUL AND MINDS.
