By music education I mean that I want to become a director/teacher at some point. I know that schools like Julliard are good for performance and such but they don't have education degrees.

"Michigan State University has one of the leading music education programs in the United States. According to U.S. News and World Report, MSU has been the number one ranked college in the United States for teacher education for 10 years in a row (1995 - 2004). Graduates from MSU's music education program have successful careers and have risen to leadership positions at the elementary, secondary, and collegiate levels."

(Note that none of the people who recommended Juilliard knew how to spell it. That should tell you something.) (2 i's and 2 l's)

i think it would be best to become a professsional first...go to juliard, go to a good college/graduate program then get some experience, then you might be able to teach at a university...universities don't just hire anyone with no experience...they prefer professionals.
