Why americans are so damn ignorants?
Originally Latin people were the antique Romans who live in a region called Lavinia (Lavinium by the legend were the city founded by Enea) and their language were Latin.
Now latin people are called only who speak latin language and so
Italian, French, Portoguese and Spanish.
The South America is called Latin America because the people speak Spanish or Portoguese not for ethnic or racial reasons.

No I don't. Spanish and Italian languages have similarities because they are both Latin based languages, but a Latino is someone who is a Hispanic American. Italians aren't Hispanic. Hispanic people are ones who come from Spanish speaking countries.

No.....
Italian and Spanish are similar, but not all "latinos" speak Spanish. Latino is just a broad term used ( sometimes incorrectly ) to sum up all people of central american & south american descent - Spain as well. Many people in the countries in these parts of the world don't even speak Spanish - Portugese is very common in South America.

No, Latinos are from Latin America, which is Central and Southern America. Italians are European they have similar languages as they are both part of the Romance languages group, which includes Portugues, Spanish, French, and Italian...and I beleive I am missing one.

Although both languages derive from Latin, the term "Latino" refers to a person from Latin America. So, no, I don't think that from U.S. American standards, an Italian is a Latino.
