Just install the video card and the computer should recognize (Plug n Play) that you have a new hardware. It will ask for appropriate drivers (either via CD, Internet or Local HD).

I've changed out my video card on Home PC three times and each time the computer recognized it. I didn't have to disable anything.

I am running Windows XP. If you are running another type of OS then you will have to check documents that came with video card.

In most cases, these days the motherboard will automaticly disable the onboard video when a Vido card is installed.

You'll have to check your particular computer model manual or the website for exact details since you didn't provide us a Make and model number
