I believe it was the latter part of the 22nd century but it could have been the 23rd century.

According to Wikipedia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Trek:_The_Original_Series
the original Star Trek is set in the 23rd century. This makes sense because Next Geration is set in the 24th century
