get some dead stars which have released elements, a lot of space debris, let gravity take its course.....you mean a model?
just stick some foam balls onto toothpicks and color them

I presume you mean to produce electricity? get a solar panel say 5 or 11 watt unisolar or sharp connect it to a 12 volt auto type battery through a regulator and if you want 110 volts ac use an inverter (12vdc to 110vac)if you mean for space craft or a model solar system I don't know,good luck.

find out their distance away from the sun and their sizes relative to each other. i would use metric system because it's easier to scale down that way. you want to keep your entire solar system within 1 meter.
use hanger wire and playdoe to create ur solar system. color them accordingly. earth will have mostly blue tone with some white, green and brown.
make a black background and stage, and dot some white spots to represent the stars. you can be creative and draw a nebula in the background.

First you need a LOT of material, and then you need about five billion years. Start all the stuff spinning in space, and eventually you'll have a solar system. :-)

any round obects will do but the space between them will be the hardest thing to get right if your gonna make it to scaleif the whole model fit in your roomsome planets will be to small to see very well so make your planets to scale with each other and a chart for writen distances.

the easiest way is to buy the set at a local department store. it comes with all the planets and poles to set it up. my daughter had to do one this year and thats how we did hers. we got the box set at walmart, then all she had to do was paint it, and put it on the poles and label it.
