A relative of mine called and cursed my mother out. I texted them & told them 2 stop b4 we c them in court. Now they continually text my phone with horrid messages. I asked them several times to stop texting my phone finally I got tired & went off. Can they still be dealt with even though I responded keep in mind i asked them several times to stop texting b4 i retaliated.

Keep copies of the messages. If they aren't calling to ask for repayment of funds (which is not harassment), you may well have a case for civil court. Document how many messages were sent and when. The more sent, and at inconvenient hours (like early in the morning), the stronger your case.

They sound quite immature and they are trying to draw you into being immature also.
Just block them from your cell phone and let this whole thing cool down for a month or two, before you unblock them. Make sure not contact with them whatsoever for two months.

you can contact your local police department and see what kind of charges can be filed against them. keep a log of all the texts and what they said, that way if it does go to court, you have all the proof of what was said and by who.

I think wether or not you retaliated doesn't matter. I think you can call that deffense or something. You should take them to court.
