Bigfoot was not 'invented' it was an ancient myth in Native American lore. Known as Sasquatch, it is a creature believed to be manlike but beastial at the same time.
Asia has it's own 'Bigfoot' myths that go back beyond memory. In the Himalayan mountains he is known as Yeti.
Every myth has some root in fact. Could these legends be word to mouth stories of actual encounters with neanderthal man?
I am loathe to dismiss such a far ranging and universal myth known to many people on separate continents as mere hoax.
