Who in America does? It is more a perception than reality, I don't have a problem with a black or woman president. I just have a problem with Hillary Clinton and Barrack Obama. Cony Rice would be fine.

Well, it shoudn't be a problem in America or in any oher country of the world. What is important is the background and the capability of a person to manage the country. Will she/he be a good and effective president or not? I don't know why there are still some racist people, since most of the world are already civilized now. They should look into the inner beauty of a person, and not his/her color. In this way, we'll be able to achieve peace and harmony throughout the planet. Let's respect each other's rights and feelings. We're all created equally by God. Of course, we have lots of differences from each other but these differences makes our lives more interesting and fun. What is important is that we do the best for ourselves and for other people.

I truly wonder if Americans actually do have a 'problem' with having ether as a president...It is a publicity 'problem', more than an individual one i think. It might even be a political tactic, a ploy, or a distraction, more so than a personal issue for voters.

One thing is sure.. we collectively as voters seem to be less and less influential at the poles,...and it is the media that so thoroughly diminishes our unity.
I wonder if it is even possible for the public to elect a president in this country any more.
This could well be an election that is a forfeit to opinion for the sake of opinion, and the winner be a looser, because the media crucifies him/her for his/her popularity in the running.

I guess we as Americans have came a long way baby but not that far yet. I had three black lady bosses in my 28 career at Ford Motor Co. and they all treated me great and I had full confidence in them as leaders.
I am not black but I had bosses that were black males and white males and even a few oriental gentlemen but I always got along with them and did not have any problems these different groups of people. The only color i saw was green..$$$$

Why do people put down Condelezza Rice? Is it because she is black and a women? Would they have a problem with her being president? If she ran, would 'America' have a problem with her?

I don't believe that the majority in America do. Do you have some polling or research to support your generalization?

Contrary to what many would like to believe, the U.S. as a society/culture, is one of the most repressed, fear-based nations on the planet. Sad, isn't it. I, personally would prefer whomever-black, female, etc. is insignificant. It is about who would be best for the welfare of the nation. Men have certainly made a mess of things-wouldn't it be refreshing to go in another direction...

You ever have a political conversation with your typical white folks? I'm thinkin no cause you'd already realize why there'd be a problem.

The good ol boys aren't gone, they just keep quiet these days. The white hoods are well hidden. 4/5 of the South is still racist.

I think a woman would have a better shot than an African-American. Biggots everywhere would be going absolutely apeshit.

Any answer to this will only be misconstrued to be racist or anti feminist which is probably why this question was posted. To get a rise out of someone.
