Naaaaaaaaah!
Manfred Mann's Earth Band, although the song is actually Bruce Springsteen's.
Blinded by the Light
Manfred Mann's Earth Band
- words and music by Bruce Springsteen
- Manfred Mann's Earth Band version (Warner 8252) was released August 1976
and reached #1 in early 1977. It was in the Billboard Top 40 for 15 weeks.
- lyrics as recorded by Manfred Mann's Earth Band on the 1976 album
"The Roaring Silence" (Warner 3055)
Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night
Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night
Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night
Madman drummers bummers, Indians in the summer with a teenage diplomat
In the dumps with the mumps as the adolescent pumps his way into his hat
With a boulder on my shoulder, feelin' kinda older, I tripped the merry-go-round
With this very unpleasin', sneezin' and wheezin, the calliope crashed to the ground
The calliope crashed to the ground
But she was...
Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night
Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night
Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night
Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night
Some silicone sister with a manager mister told me I got what it takes
She said "I'll turn you on sonny to something strong, play the song with the funky break"
And go-cart Mozart was checkin' out the weather chart to see if it was safe outside
And little Early-Pearly came by in his curly-wurly and asked me if I needed a ride
Asked me if I needed a ride
But she was...
Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night
Blinded by the light
She got down but she never got tired
She's gonna make it through the night
She's gonna make it through the night
------ guitar solo ------
But mama, that's where the fun is
But mama, that's where the fun is
Mama always told me not to look into the eye's of the sun
But mama, that's where the fun is
Some brimstone baritone anticyclone rolling stone preacher from the east
Says, "Dethrone the dictaphone, hit it in it's funny bone, that's where they expect it least"
And some new-mown chaperone was standin' in the corner, watching the young girls dance
And some fresh-sown moonstone was messin' with his frozen zone, reminding him of romance
The calliope crashed to the ground
But she was...
Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night
Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night

And she was blinded by the light. cut loose like a deuce
Another runner in the night. blinded by the light
It was written by Bruce Springsteen and done by Manfred Mann
Bruce was having problems with his management, so he couldn't perform anywhere. So...he had Manfred Mann do this song....and Patti Smith did Because the Night to help keep him afloat

definitely, rather everybody's spectacular. "Blinded..." is a Springsteen song, initially, first released in 1973 (on the Boss's 'Greetings From Asbury Park NJ' album). It became re-recorded in 1976 with the aid of Manfred Mann, and THAT version went directly to grow to be Billboard's #a million Hit in 1977. So, Bruce Springsteen wrote it, even nonetheless that is lots extra "linked" with Manfred Mann. the unique lyric became "blinded with the aid of the sunshine, decrease loose like a deuce, yet another runner interior the night", as penned with the aid of Springsteen. (Springsteen has defined the "deuce" as touching on a Ford Deuce Coupe, a similar style of motor vehicle featured interior the coastline Boys' song, "Little Deuce Coupe") yet Manfred Mann exercised poetic license, and adjusted the words slightly, to "blinded with the aid of the sunshine, revved up like a deuce, yet another runner interior the night". additionally, Manfred Mann repeats this refrain over and over of their version. that is no longer "douche", in the two version, even nonetheless I do admit it sounds like it!

"I was blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night" by Manfred Mann. The commonly misunderstood lyric refers/alludes to a being "revved up" like the car, excited, or ready to go.
