i have raised the temp in the cage. he live with one other female who is about the same size. i have offered him a rat pup or mouse every other week or so. he is no shedding or getting ready to. He has lost body fat although not all. i know ball pythons are finicky, but no problems with him until now. i don't have a vet i an take him to, but i am trying to warm him upmore then feed him with the lights out as they are nocturnal animals. if you have anymore suggestions please share. i feed live, but can get prekilled if necessary(he has never taken prefilled though). Thanks!

He always has an under cage heat pad on. I usually feed them about every other weekend(fuzzy rats). His cage drops to about 70 at night and about 85 with light.

there are several things i have learned in my keeping of snakes; at a year and a half he should probably be eating large mice or even small rats (mine are), second i have heard to research what their primary food is in their natural environment and try that if possible, like gerbils etc, another is to use frozen thawed or prekilled and leave the snake alone with it for awhile, then i know this sounds gross but i have seen it work! its called braining you cut open the skull of your frozen or prekilled rodent allowing blood to come out then offer it to the snake after that is force feeding but this should only be done by someone experienced as you can hurt the snake. but actually a month is not that long to go without, how often do you usually feed (when they do eat)?

Many snakes will go off feed through the breeding season. And the fact that you are keeping him in the same cage as the female isn't helping.
Snakes are solitary animals and do best alone.
Keeping 2 snakes housed together can cause stress to both or either snake and cause feeding problems.
The best advice is to get the 2 separated and then try feeding him again in 7 days. Although, with it being breeding season, he still may refuse to eat for a while yet. If he starts to lose weight, I would find a vet to take him to.
Also, make sure that he is warm enough. Make sure there is an alternate heat source other than the light .. since you are turning out lights at night. (under tank heater, or ceramic heat emiter) The night time drop may just be a little too cool.

Good Luck!

his appetite might have changed now that he is getting older. If he doesnt start eating soon i would get him to a vet that specializes in the types of snakes, or reptiles. Also do you have him in an aquarium or in a cage with the other snakes. This could also be a problem for him. Try changing the type of food you feed him.

One suggestion I have is to wait at least a week between offering food-if you do it every day it will just stress him out. Is he getting ready to shed? That may be throwing him off. Also, make sure he has a humid area, a moist hide is nice.

If he starts losing weight or appears dehydrated, take him to a reptile vet at once.

he may not be eating because it's cold.i would find a vet to take him to if he is losing weight.my bp went over two months without eating he just ate about two weeks ago.he should be ok but i would find a vet soon if you feel he is sick. better safe than sorry .you can try to feed it a gerbal.they say they like them but i've never tried it myself with my bp and he eats small live rats. i hope this helps good luck. keep me posted on your snake.

My snake only eats about once a month-if I'm lucky. Maybe he isn't hungry. It sounds like you are ensuring he never has to go hungry and now he isn't as desperate for food. You're doing good, but captivity does that to snakes.

you're ok for some extra months, save attempting to feed him each and each week till he eats. in case you pass into June and he has not eaten, take him to the vet. Balls are very not basic and now and returned finicky at that age. the warmth is sufficient in basic terms make effective he has a funky place to pass in his abode and he can submerge himself interior the water every time he needs.
