Like laughing at the lot of you, you dumb colonials. David Beckham is a long, long way past his best, and it's all downhill from here. He's a novelty act now, and you are going to find that out the hard way. You've spent $128,000,000 on David Beckham and his pointless, tupperware-titted wife. You're welcome to them.

Is this the same over hyped David Beckham who has got back into the Real Madrid team and has been playing so well that he's being touted for an England call up?

I don't like the media circus which follows him, you can have and keep that but Becks is a great player, however I don't think just his presence will help the 'soccer' league in America.

Its all about the money and the celebrity now. The serious football is over for Becks - his choice - he could have moved to another great footballing side and done a great job but his wife has a big influence over him and she loves the fame and the glamour! Its more like a Hollywood role than a footballing position he's moving into. It's cool, good luck to him - there's nearly half a billion dollars in it for him - lets face it, that's quite a pull!

Beckham's career ended after the World Cup.
Real Madrid don't want him. Nor, do English clubs and the England Manager.
It's the same as in the 70's, when old stars, past their sell buy date, went to America to get a final pay day.

I love it! He has a great work ethic and even though he's no longer in his prime, I'm sure he still has at 5 years left in him to play. He's also a class act with his behavior now with Real Madrid and Capello, still giving his best for Real Madrid even though Capello kept him on the bench for a long time.

Here's a link to a page on the official EPL site describing him (http://www.premierleague.com/fapl.rac?command=forwardOnly&nextPage=whereAreTheyNow&initial=B&playerID=884617):
Whatever the opinions of Beckham off the pitch, the facts on it speak for themselves: six Premier League titles, two FA Cups and a Champions League win in eight seasons as a United regular. On top of that, he was made England captain in 2000, has scored vital goals at two World Cups and has one of the most memorable strikes in Premier League history on his CV (from inside his own half against Wimbledon in 1996). Ostensibly slight and with little pace, Beckham should not have been able to stamp his authority on the English game. Yet it is apparent that the Leytonstone-born midfielder has achieved what he has with a dedication to self-improvement that has carried him above his natural talent. Beckham’s expert range of passing, allied to a phenomenal work-rate, has convinced him his best position is in the centre, but he has always been at his most devastatingly effective wide on the right. Hours spent on the training ground have fine-tuned his crossing and deadball abilities - at his best, no-one bends it like Beckham.

Has anyone studied the fee, perish the thought that we poor brits
would short change him,and detract from his weekly income the
s***. Let's face it if it was'nt for us poor serf's, who paid for every
Saturday and mid week game Beckingham Palace would never
have been possible. O'h yeh I forgot it's all in the interests of
creating a good american side. In a pig's eye

Disgraced to see an England player go to the smallest and richest team in the world, just for the money. He might even win an Oscar like the other Hollywood stars.

I like him as a player as he's proved to the world what he can deliver.

Going to Galaxy for me is not a problem as long as he feels good with the move.

Thanx!

I dont think any English football fan is that bothered. He is finished at international level and probably wouldnt get in any of the top 4 teams in the Premier League. He is only going to America to increase his name and his bank balance of course.........not exactly the best league in the world is it....?
