each labor is different; mine started out feeling like bad cramps in the lower abdomen area; and it lasted for too long; as it got worse it became extremely sharp pains across the entire abdomen; finally the doctor had to give me a spinal and it was a total of 18 hrs before the baby came.

my best friend had cramps for 2 hrs and her baby was born like within 3 minutes

so there is no way to know

the best advice: WALK WALK WALK during the entire pregnancy; exercise and strengthen the upper body and legs this is so good for you and for delivering a healthy baby
good luck

Like someone reaches deep intoyour body all the way to the bowels(which by the way makes you feel you really have to S)
and then grabs your back from the insideout and body slams you like an earth quake and then pulls your back from the inside to the front and body slams you again.

Then will come about twenty waves of the worse cramping sensation on this earth and a graudual subsiding until the next

round when if you are fortunate someone will have pity on you
and give you an epidural! You'll also have an amazing loathing
for the father and wish him to go to a bottomless pit, among other
places, You'll also wonder who in this world would ever want to have a baby and you know you're not going to live through this UNTIL your little miracle emerges and you hold him for the first time, all pain is replaced by pure JOY!!!

A bit like those horrendous period pains you get but times them by 10! I would say it is a stabbing type of pain that comes in sudden bursts. Even similar to gas type pains when they are severe too.

It is not as bad as everyone makes it seem and believe me it aint easy it depends on how your periods were before you got pregnant and how well you can deal with plain and the drugs they give you I hear they are wonderful, I wouldn't know they did not help me with the birth of my son. once you see that child you forget all about the pain you went through.

Huffing and puffing ... regret for being pregnant in the first place ... hate the very existence of life...

But don't worry, as soon as you see the baby, you will not remember a thing.

it feels like cramps that keep getting worse and more frequent as time goes on.

The good news is ---- when you have a beautiful baby to hold, you forget all about the pain you had.
