It isn't impossible to get discovered in a small town, but it's improbable.I'm in the same situation right now too.If you can't believe in yourself without the approval of others just go out and find people who will support you.I used to have very little confidence that singing/acting would ever get me anywhere and I had the mindset that I wasn't good enough but I went back to the theatre I did alot of shows at when I was little and being around people there made me believe in myself alot more, so maybe try that.Maybe when you get older, move. For now just do community shows nearby. It can really get you discovered. My best friend just got through playing Belle in Beauty and the Beast and some director from California had her in the studio today recording promotional stuff for a brand new musical.and we live in Tennessee, in the middle of nowhere.

Those of us with a serious interest in being an actor, singer, model, etc. Moved to a city where those industries thrive, instead of staying in our home town, staring at the walls. When I was 18, I moved to Los Angeles and later to NYC.

Hon, you have to believe in yourself. Don't wait for others to "believe" in you. Create your own life! If you want to act, ask your mom or dad to call the community theatres in your city to ask if you can volunteer at the theatre.

I heard on the radio that American Idol is having classes for future contestants.....Although I have never watched the show (I've had to see/hear about it everyday, though,) maybe you could go to school to get people to adore you and throw their money at you?

Do you not like your privacy enough to be willing to be famous and share whatever you do with millions, whether intamate to you or just ordinary?

Fame is a by product for people who respect your "art" in whichever that may be. If you aim for fame for the sake of fame you will fail and probobly become infamous. Believe in yourself and love what you do. Everyone person has someone unique in the world that not one other hum being sahres. I firmly believe it that. Discover it and let it bloom!
