It doesn't HAVE to be, but I recommend that you do until you know how your body reacts to it. I get them often and don't usually treat them, but i now know at what point have to suck it up and get a treatment for it. Good luck.

Yes...it won't go away by itself. 2. choices: seek out a pharmacist he will sell you an over the counter medication to treat the yeast infection. Or buy some acidophilus capsules at a health food store (they are in the cooler) insert 1 capsule before going to bed for about 3 nights...it should go away...Personally I perfer the acidohilus over the other. If the yeast infection is on the skin (arm, hands,) I've used Grapefruit Seed Extract follow directions....it works also. Good Luck.....

Yes it needs to be treated, it will not go away on it's own. If you are sexually active your partner will just keep giving it back to you. Both should be treated. It is possible to get a prescription for something called diflucan which should take care of this in 1-2 doses. Yeast is normally found in the genitals, for some reason usually women get an overgrowth from things like birth control pills, hormones, or even taking antibiotics. This is a minor thing in life, just take care of it and you won't have to think about it again. Good luck

Yes an yeast infection has to treated even if there are no symptoms.I had a pap smear done and it showed yeast infection.I didn't had any symptoms so I didn't really cared about it.After a while I got the symptoms and they were so bad that local yeast treatments didn't worked and I had to take Diflucan orally to get rid of it.So please my dear do not let it go untreated because it can become a nightmare later on.

The best natural treatments for a yeast infection are:

- Take probiotics (good bacteria) they are found in good quality yogurt (preferably plain organic - add your own fruit and a natural sweetener like Stevia) or you can get a probiotic supplement at heath food stores.

- Cut out all sugar from your diet (except fruit). Follow a low-carb/low glycemic diet. Yeast loves sugar. All simple carbs like white flour/bread/white rice turn into sugar. Eat more protein, veggies and other good carbs like brown rice, whole wheat and oats. Stay away from processed and fast foods.

If you have had yeast infections before and a doctor diagnosed it, then when you have another, you can just use an over-the-counter medication for it. Monistat is best for that.

Yes it does.If left untreated it can become systemic.Which means it will spread throughout your body and become a bigger problem. Don't have sex until you get rid of the yeast infection or you'll spread it to him, who might spread it to another girl or even give it right back to you again.
