I had a vaginal birth, and I did not see anything. They asked if I wanted to see, but I declined, as I had an epidural and was doing just fine. I figured that seeing it all would mess up my head :). Do not be scared. I was not scared, but spent the whole nine months of my pregnancy mentally preparing like it was a battle or something. It was nothing. I do not think that you will see anything if you are having a c section. Good Luck!

No you won't see anything. You'll be flat on your back with a curtain shielding your view of the surgical field. All you get to see i your baby...although your arms are usually pinned down, so you won't be able to hold your baby right away. I was terrified of surgery, but I managed, and you will too. Good luck and happy parenting.

FELT ALOT OF MOVING AROUND OF MY ABDOMIN...BUT NOTHING PAINFUL UNTIL LATER WHEN MEDS WORE OFF. YOU WONT BE ABLE TO SEE A THING...DONT WORRY...IT WILL GO FINE...I AM 32 WEEKS WITH MY SECOND SON AND MY SECOND C-SECTION IS SCHEDULED FOR APRIL 16TH. GOOD LUCK TO YOU.

That's right. There is a drape shielding your face from the rest of your body, in part so that you don't contaminate the open would with bacteria from your breath. They will show you your baby after it is delivered, but you don't get to see anything else.

I had a c-section and they offered to give me an epidural but then i did not want to be awake knowing they were cutting me wide open so i told them to knock me out which they did. If your awake then they will have a cover up so you can't see anything.
