Why is it that the term "reverse racism" can be used to describe most shows we see. If a black person makes racial jokes about a white person, everyone laughs, but if its the other way around, white people would be bashed like no other and called racist and bigotted. And in movies, especially the movie Beauty Shop w/ Queen Latifah, every other word or joke is slamming white people. It gets old and there is no reason for it. Not all white people are out of touch goof balls with no fashion sense looking to the black culture to lead them through. The jokes arn't funny anymore.

no i agree with you. there is reverse discrimination going on in america. african-american comedies can poke fun at whites, using slurs, and yet if a white person were to make a movie about african-americans it would cause a huge uproar.
part of this dicrimination is due to the fact that many racial minorities had been oppressed by whites for centuries and now the tables are finally turning and whites are no longer the majority. some people feel that whites are "getting what they deserve" but in reality, the past is the past and we should not let old bigotry or bias interfere with moving forward to a better world.
one final example is that while i was in high school we had several student unions (persian, chinese, black, latino, etc) and when a white student decided to try and create a white student union, the idea was rejected flat out by the teachers and the principal. it is discrimination.

That sort of freedom has bothered me, because I too feel that some of the jokes are way too derogatory, and I have white friends who make Black jokes, which is fine with me because I know they aren't trying to be racist or hurt people, but many closed -minded black people living in this one dimensional mind that Black people have to have a voice above others, wouldn't understand that humor is for everyone, and not just them. I hear people saying how on Wilmer's Yo Momma show, the "Yo momma so black" jokes are racist, but come on, people say things like that everyday. Black people call each other Black. This is one reason why I can't relate to some Black people at times, and then there are other issues I can relate too. I think people need to be more open-minded before lashing out. Good Question, because one like this never seems to be answered correctly.

I didn't see reverse racism or whatever the hel* you call it. I thought the film should have been made with an all black cast. They put the white people in it so you (white people) will come to see the movie. Now you complain about it. You need to get a life. Stop finding things to hate black people for. It's not that serious. Get off the computer, go outside and enjoy life! Get to know different people and cultures and find out the truth for yourself instead of accepting and learning negative stereotypes from TV and the computer about blacks

good question. i've got have been given information for each individual on Yahoo--there's no "race." Genetic analyze shows that there are approximately 5 substantial "genetic" communities and you may no longer tell which one a individual belongs to--Brittany Spears, John Woo and could Smith could all be interior an identical genetic team, mutually as different blacks or Asians or whites could be in yet another. this is form of hilarious the way people proceed to argue race. they could desire to easily say they do in comparison to black hair, or white epidermis makes them ill. this is basically very primitive and thoughtless--no count who talks racist, they're conversing meaningless b.s.

not true there was a white stand-up comedian I saw sort of making fun of black people, not in a bashing way but following stereotypes and stuff. And he said he knew people would hate him for saying it, but he made some racist jokes. I didnt laugh, although I didnt bust out a flamethrower either.

Racism is ANYONE (black, white, yellow, purple) discriminating against or be prejudiced toward ANYONE (black, white, yellow, purple) based on their race/ethnicity. So "reverse racism" would actually be showing favouritism toward someone based on their race or ethnicity. We need to be clear on that because racism is the act and has nothing to do with the race of the speaker. White jokes are just as racist as black jokes, or Asian jokes, or Irish jokes, etc.

Oh for pete's sake chill out. I saw the movie and I am white and thought it was hilarious. Did not feel the least bit insulted.
Don't just look for reasons to hate.
Hasn't the Sunni and Shiite's mass murder of each other taught us anything? We have freedom of speach if it bothers you don't watch it. Let's stop the control freaks. What about the questions on here? They are so anti-black I would hate if I was black.
My black friend said, "doesn't bother me Ijust ignor people like that."

How about due diligence? Come on really just think about it...reverse history and you will see it. White people were allowed to do more than just poke fun at black people, they brought them here in chains and built a nation on degrading and raping these people of their integrity and racism is so in trenched into the U.S infrastructure that most people don't even think of it. And I am sorry like the German's in the Holocaust the whites who have a family history link to that time are complicit and giving the opportunity history could easily repeat itself. I think little poking fun at whiteness is the least that they can do..
just my opinion to your opinion.

I always mistrust questions that start out with
"I'm not (fill in the blank), but blah, blah, blah.
That little word 'BUT' completely negates your opening statement.
People who've been oppressed are always gonna get theirs when the pendulum swings in their direction. It's happened all through history. Oppressed people come into power, so they abuse their oppressors and the next 'new' group coming down the pike.
If everybody would simply decide not be so judgemental, this practice would stop. Pointing out these so called injustices aimed at whites does nothing but fan the fire.
Good luck.

I find them still funny , some white comedians get away with it easily because they are talented enough to single out a vast number of groups of people besides just whites and blacks . And the reverse is true also , many black comedians make fun of their own race as well as whites and other groups of people. I think it depends more on the talent of the comedian than race.
