Neither polypropylene or polyethylene are considered biodegradable in landfills. Both can be slowly embrittled by UV light which leads to cracking and breaking into smaller pieces. Beyond aesthetics neither poses any environmental risk.

yep leave it out in the sun for a yr or 2
