Have you had your ticket punched? We all have tickets when we get on the bus ride, the grand roller coaster ride of life. In effect, people don't become anything, they were born that way, created that way by the likes of themselves and us before they were born in other dimensions. But in this life, we have a rat race basically. He who is born into privlidge and power and prestige and programmed to worship it according to the methods of his forefathers gets to keep the Grail, the mulah. It is not his fault or your fault. It is everyone, all of creation and creator's fault and yet it is where we put it, where it is supposed to be, right now, even your suffering, even our suffering. You might not stab someone, but somebody has to be the stabber. The rat race goes on with people that are aware and people who are not aware of it's origin. If you become aware, you learn to expect backstabbing, maybe not like it but you are ready for it. You can relax your reactions to it, because you know that without it, your life might not even be. You were put here to experience that backstabbing. And from where people sit to witness it all, you are magnificent in your creation. You are reacting the way it was predetermined to happen magnificently! Hence there is Life, sin , difference, what a wonderful world! What a puzzle! And yet, we suffer through it. The rat race we made, we all made. So you can let yourself be aware and relax or let yourself be carried into the predetermined plot to fight back. Maybe that is your lot? And with that, mankind can fight each other til they eliminate each other? That's certainly an option. Perhaps this backstabber got the best of you because he or she won the contest. Took advantage of you. But wasn't that supposed to happen? Well you can react in some active listenning, empathetic, sympathetic, affirming way and remove the sting. PS...make sure the backstabbing is not rumor. The short answer is, we are sinners, different, unique and we are all in the rat race. Nice guys finish last so what do we expect. You either work hard....most of us are not taught to waste our time doing that......or you back stab. Expect the backstabbing. This is a rat race. It is gonna happen lots in your life. Fight em, join em.....or find a middle ground!

Well, some may answer this question by saying: 1. Anger. 2. jealousy. 3. Aspire to power, and so on, which could be reasons for backstabbing. But in my mind, the only word that includes the above and more of itself is COWARDICE

COWARDICE mainly means lack of courage or resolution, which consequently results in:

1. ANGER as I do not have the intellect to resolve a certain situation, so I resort to lashing around.

2. JEALOUSY as I can not stand success of others and I desire to destroy them.

3. ASPIRE TO POWER, therefore the end will justify the means to aquire such power, no matter what.

4. FEAR as I am scared of (plug in any situation you like) and therefore I restore to passive or non-passive aggressiveness whatever form it may be.

All the above, summed up in the word COWARDICE, occur because of:

1. Bad upbringing by either the immediate or the not-immediate family, or the environment or all of these.

1. Lack of self-esteem.

2. Inferiority complex.

3. Idiocy, more likely, and ignorance, less likely.

I hope I have covered this topic.

Like Cain and Abel, Caesar and Brutus, Jesus and Judas, backstabbers are people who are not 100% happy with themselves and do not have true love for self. They see quality in the victim which they think they do not/cannot possess themselves.

it can be an act of revenge. that someone made you so mad taht the only way to teach them a lesson, for them to understand the mistakes they've made, to come back to reality and escape fantasy land is for you to break the trust you have. (based on experience)

based on my parent's experience:
people feel that they are powerful, they don't need help anymore so they hurt the people who brought them up in society. it has to do with greed- they can obtain more by backstabbing so thru greed and jealousy of not having things, they can get more.

Lack of trust in people, they feel they are going to be let down and hurt so they want to be the first to do it.

When they decide that a certain decision would gain them more than the friendship/trust of a person.
