the age is 16, but at that age you can be basically a cashier or a cart pusher. Not much more. maybe work in toys zoning. At 18 the whole store opens up. Personally I would recommend against it. Depends on the store near you, but the one I recently worked at had some serious issues going on with potentially illegal things. So be careful.

Probably 16, but don't expect to get paid well. My dad says that the empoyees don't get paid good at all.
