I'm not offended, but i have to admit i did laugh, not at you , just the fact when i read it out loud, and how it sounded, and having funny parents, is a good thing because a sense of humour is needed in this world, i think your name is unique and you should be proud

People respond that way because they're jerks--pun intended.
Seriously, perhaps they think that you're pulling their leg when they first hear your name. They may think you're making up a name for shock affect. Your parents were right, you could have a great deal of fun with your name.
Does it bother you? If not, then just keep laughing at the reaction. If so, change your first name to John.
